Through August 20 – Summer food service program  — Waco I.S.D. is once again be sponsoring the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) this summer. This program serves FREE breakfast and lunch to any child age 1 – 18. Please note the dates and times of service at each location by checking this website: Summer Food Service Program. Meals will not be served before or after the scheduled serving times. Now until August 20 – Junior League of Waco Accepting Proposals for 75th Anniversary Project. – The Junior League of Waco, Inc. will be celebrating its 75th year anniversary of serving the women and children of our community. One of the ways that our members would like to celebrate is by giving back even more to the community through a service project. We are in the process of soliciting ideas for this service project and welcome you to apply. We will be reviewing proposals from now until August 20th. You may email your proposal to merryl@washthomas.com or mail it to the Junior League of Waco, Inc., Attn: Merryl Jones, 2600 Austin Avenue, Waco, Texas 76710. July 8 - McLennan County Hunger Coalition (MCHC) meeting – 11:45-1:00, Caritas of Waco Conference Room, 300 S. 15th. A coalition of representatives of food pantries, feeding programs, governmental agencies, faith-based organizations, businesses, and interested individuals committed to solving the problems of food insecurity and hunger in the local area, the MCHC meets monthly, usually on the second Thursday of each month. July 16 – Mission Waco Heart of Texas Homeless Coalition Meeting. Time: Lunch at 11:45 AM, meeting starts at Noon. Place: MHMR. Cost: No cost to attend. Join us to stay involved with what is going on in Central Texas to serve the homeless. Lunch will be provided. July 21 – Nobody’s Fool 2010 - Time: 8 AM -Noon.  Place: Waco Convention Center, 100 Washington Ave. Grades 5-9, girls and boys. $5 registration per child includes breakfast snacks, lunch and a T-shirt. The purpose of Nobody’s Fool is to encourage abstinence, promote parent-child communication and give medically accurate and age-appropriate facts about sexuality issues. Trained health educators teach the classes which are divided by age and gender: 5th grade boys, 5th grade girls, 6th grade girls, 6th grade boys, etc. Registration scholarships and transportation are available for those who need them. July 26 – August 8 – Win a free website design for your non-profit! Contest sponsored by Yellow Web Monkey Web Design. Non-Profits from the Central Texas Area ( McLennan, Falls, Limestone, Bosque, Coryell, Bell counties) are invited to submit an application to win a free website design. Applications are due August 9. July 27 – Heart of Texas Crop Walk for Hunger Steering Committee meeting. Time: 5:30 pm. Place: Seeds of Hope office at 7th & James Baptist Church, 602 James (call 755-7745 or email seedseditor@clearwire.net  for directions) Join us to help plan the 2010 Waco CROP walk. Three-fourths of the proceeds from the CROP walk will go to Church World Service (CWS) a world-wide relief, development, and refugee assistance ministry. July 29 – Pizza Hut Fund raiser for McLennan County Hunger Coalition. Time: All day! Place: Baylor Location Pizza Hut, 1111 S. 8th Street.
