- June 1 – Tickets go on sale for Care Net Celebrate Life Banquet with Rick Santorum. Banquet is September 10, 2011 <MORE>
- June 4 - Neighborworks Day of Service - This year we will be in the North East Riverside neighborhood on Saturday, June 4. Volunteers will gather at East Waco Park (401 Hood St.) at 7:30 AM to form work teams. The teams will then fan out through the surrounding neighborhood to complete projects including planting tree saplings, trimming limbs, hauling away debris, and painting homes. While the volunteers are finishing their work, a celebration will begin at the park at 10:00 am with children’s games such as relay races and water balloon tosses. At Noon, volunteers and neighbors will convene at the park for a FREE lunch and celebration! All are welcome at the celebration luncheon. <MORE>
- Summer Meals Program – Please let your clients/staff/children you work with know about the opportunity available to kids 1-18 to eat breakfast & lunch for free this summer. You can go to www.mclennanhunger.org/summersites for a list of sites or you can go to www.summerfood.org and click on “Eat Right, Find a Site” to put in your address and find the nearest sites to you. Adults can eat for a reduced rate.
