- March 2 -Initial planning/brainstorming meeting for the 2012 Homelessness and Hunger Awareness Week (HHAW). If you are interested in being part of the initial planning for Waco’s HHAW 2012 the first meeting will be March 2 at Caritas of Waco at 1:30. HHAW is a nationwide event that takes place in November. It is a week-long event that attempts to highlight the hunger and homelessness problem in our communities while at the same time doing something to change it. - March 7 – Poverty Presentation– Please join us to hear Ashley Thornton give an update on what she has learned working on the City Council appointed Poverty Solutions Steering Committee. - March 19 thru 23 - ”Women in the World Economy” Conference – the McBride Center for International Business at Baylor University will host its 6th Global Business Forum on the theme, “Women in the World Economy.” In developing countries, discriminatory practices that prevent women from working in certain occupations may depress labor productivity by as much as 25 percent. Our Forum will gather specialists from the academic, business, and public policy communities to explore the changing role of women. Most events are free and open to the public. <MORE>
