The mission of the Salvation Army is “…to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.” The Salvation Army operates several programs which are open to the public, including The Red Shield Men’s Lodge and Community Kitchen, Sally’s House- an Emergency Shelter for Women and Women with Children, Family Store and Donation Center, Housing for Seniors and the Disabled, Rental and Utility Assistance, Food Pantry, Clothing/Furniture/Gas Vouchers based on referrals, and First time Prescription Assistance. Beginning in August 2011 we will be able to assist homeless Veterans and their families and surviving spouses. The Salvation Army Social Services are open to those who live in McLennan County, for more information contact Social Services at 254.756.7271. The Shelters and Community Kitchen are open to who so ever needs a meal and or bed.
